There are a ton of variables when it comes to pricing. Complexity of the topic and duration of the commitment are two of them. But affability counts for a lot, too. Never underestimate the value of being friendly and good-natured.

Here are the price ranges for some typical jobs:

• 6-page website with consultation, writing, SEO optimization, proofreading, and two rounds of revisions: $1,200 to $2,500

• e-mail copy: $250 to $2,000

• Blog posts: $300 to $750

• Printed brochure copy: $500 to $750 per page or panel

• Online sales page: $500 to $10,000 (depending on length)
